Sami Halaseh Salon Announces "On the Edge" Fall Trends
(Wichita, KS) -- Sami Halaseh, Creative Director and Owner of the Sami Halaseh Salon in Bradley Fair, announced today his "On the Edge" collection of cuts, colour, motion and makeup for Fall 2000. His inspiration? "As we approach the millennium, the world is becoming a much smaller place. We are connected between countries via the internet, and our cultures are becoming joined not only through the internet, but also through our music, fashion, interior design, film and photography. These ideas and inspriations blend us together to help form the direction of our new trends."
Halaseh defines the Fall 2000 cut as one that is a new look, strong with disconnection and tight undercutting. "With softer, curved lines, the hair is moved forward with severe disconnection for sharp undercutting and longer, overlaid pieces. The recently-popular 'bob' is brought up to date through the "On the Edge" collection with fringes and disconnected sides."
"Ninety percent of the time, if a cut doesn't have colour, I don't think it's finished." Halaseh adds. "Colour is used to emphasize the seperated, strandy feel of the cut, and highlights are used to frame the face using darker shades on the layers underneath to accentuate the top colour and shapes."
Hair movement and motion remain important in 2000, with a different emphasis than the perms of the 80's and 90's. "As with the cutting and styling, the emphasis is to create texture on the interior hair rather than creating curls over the whole head. We can achieve the textured look by taking zig-zag sections around the hair line using different size perm rods."
Makeup this Fall is softer than the earlier Spring and Summer trends. "The emphasis of "On the Edge" is on the lips and eyes, with more, but softer, eye definition to give the face a focal point."
Halaseh, internationally recognized for creativity in hair, makeup, perms and colouring, has been featured in such magazines as Harper's Bazaar, Modern Salon and Sophisticated Hairstyling Guide, and his salon was named one of the nation's 200 fastest growing salons by Salon Today in January of 2000.
